How would you imagine the world today, if the Holocaust never happened?
The Holocaust caused separation and anger, leading to racism. Jews still struggle with the Holocaust today, and it has effected all Jews lives, and freedom. The trauma and devastation the Holocaust brought to all Jewish people, haunts their lives forever! The Holocaust struck a mortal blow, particularly at the Jews of Eastern Europe, because of their especially young demographic, in particular the number of children. This led to significant long-term demographic damage. Before the Holocaust, there were 8 Jews per thousand people in the world, however today there are only 2 per thousand. The mortal blow, and the amount of young lives Hitler took, caused the destruction of a generation. Now we are lacking of that generation, as well as their children. The Holocaust and Hitler’s destruction caused between 5.6 and 5.9 million Jews to die. If the Holocaust had never occurred, there would be as many as 32 million Jews worldwide, instead of the current 13 million. Jewish people would account for much more of a majority in the overall world population, and Judaism may have been a much bigger religion, with more followers. The generation that was lost would have carried on the Jewish traditions and values to future generations, but instead it was lost as one Jew died after another. Today people still look down upon Jews, and do not respect and value their culture and traditions. It is a shame that because of the Holocaust people are racist toward Jewish people, even though it is Hitler to blame. He destroyed a nation and all the Jewish people living in it!
If the holocaust had not happened, the German people might not have lost faith in Hitler. Hitler became know as an evil, villain who killed millions, and because of this he could never be trusted as a worthy and loyal leader again! Although all the Germans lost faith in Hitler, and millions were killed, there would be no Israel without the Holocaust. The Jewish people were promised the holy land and in no other way could they achieve Israel, unless the Holocaust occurred. They were given back their land for a terrible price, however there was no other way! Who knows what would have happened if the Holocaust had not occurred, would there have been less war in the world and less racism and religious segregation? We will never know, but one fact remains: The Holocaust killed millions and will haunt us forever!
